Rehabilitation Post Stroke

Each year in Australia approximately 55,000 people will suffer a Cerebrovascular Accident (Stroke) and it is a leading cause of disability.

Following a stroke common symptoms patients may experience include weakness or paralysis, altered sensation, poor balance, reduced co-ordination, altered tone and joint pain. These symptoms will vary depending on which area of the brain is affected, and will affect the way we move and function.

Exercise is an important part of ongoing rehabilitation following a stroke to restore or optimise movement and mobility.  Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists will work with you to set goals and develop the most effective treatment plan to enable you to achieve these goals.

Treatments will be tailored to your individual needs and will include strengthening exercises, stretching, task-specific practice and manual therapy. Research strongly suggests the more active and involved a person is in their recovery the better the outcome.

As a mobile service provider we are able to come to you, allowing you to work within the comforts of your own home. We work with clients on all NDIS plans, Aged Care Packages and Private Clients.

Call 0477 934 546 or email admin@futurephysio.com.au to start your rehabilaition and recovery today.

NDIS - Your plan, your goals

The NDIS has changed the landscape for accessing therapy in Australia. The system was set up to give users choice and control over how their funding is used. This enables you to have your choice of services and providers ensuring that you have the team around you that works best to support your goals.

If you are new to the NDIS or looking to make a change for the new year, contact the team at Future Physio to discuss your goals for therapy.

Our highly experience Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists see both self managed and plan managed clients throughout the disability spectrum. Our client group ranges from childhood disability (over 7 years) through to acquired neurological disorders including multiple sclerosis, Parkinsons and early onset dementia clients.

We are a mobile service meaning that we can meet you at your home, the gym or hydrotherapy pool to best deliver your program goals. Our small team means that we know each and every client and you see the same therapist for each session.

Our practice principal, Sarah Carney, is happy to sit down for a no obligation chat with you and your carers to discuss your plan and how you wish to use your therapy funding.

Call 0477 934 546 to make the change today!
